Pregnancy Health Scans

Pregnancy ultrasound scans are a safe, non-invasive way to monitor the health and development of your baby throughout all stages of pregnancy. Using high-frequency sound waves, these scans create real-time images of your womb, allowing trained professionals to check on your baby’s growth, position, and wellbeing, as well as your reproductive organs. Ultrasound does not involve radiation and is completely safe for both mother and baby.

We offer a full range of pregnancy health scans to support you at every stage of your journey:

  • Early Pregnancy Scan (from around 6 weeks): Confirms the pregnancy, checks the location of the pregnancy, and detects the baby’s heartbeat. This scan can provide reassurance during the early weeks.

  • First Trimester Scan (typically 11–14 weeks): Also known as the dating scan, this checks your baby’s size, estimated due date, and early development. It may include screening for certain conditions, depending on your needs.

  • Second Trimester Scan (around 20 weeks): Often called the anomaly scan, this is a detailed check of your baby’s organs, limbs, and overall development. It can also reveal the baby’s sex if you wish to know.

  • Third Trimester Scan (from 28 weeks onwards): Monitors your baby’s growth, position, and wellbeing in preparation for birth. It can also assess the placenta, fluid levels, and blood flow.

All scans are carried out in a comfortable, supportive environment by experienced sonographers. We aim to provide clear information and reassurance at every step of your pregnancy.

General Health Scans

General ultrasound scans are a safe, non-invasive way for healthcare professionals to examine the inside of the body using high-frequency sound waves. Unlike X-rays or CT scans, ultrasound does not use radiation, making it a particularly safe option for a wide range of patients, including those who are pregnant.

At our clinic, we offer a range of ultrasound scans tailored to different needs, including:

  • Female health scans – including checks on the uterus, ovaries, and pelvic area, often used to investigate symptoms such as pelvic pain, irregular bleeding, or fertility concerns.

  • Abdominal and pelvic organ scans – to assess organs such as the liver, gallbladder, kidneys, bladder, and intestines for signs of inflammation, stones, or other abnormalities.

  • Male reproductive system scans – focused on examining the prostate, testicles, and scrotum to identify issues such as swelling, pain, or lumps.

  • Neck and glandular scans – including the thyroid, salivary glands, and lymph nodes to investigate swelling, lumps, or thyroid disorders.

  • Musculoskeletal (MSK) scans – used to assess joints, muscles, tendons, and ligaments, often in relation to injuries or chronic pain.

In many cases, the scan can help identify causes of pain, swelling, or infection, and guide further treatment if needed. They can identify conditions such as gallstones, kidney stones, liver disease, cysts, tumors, and vascular issues.

All scans are carried out by trained professionals in a comfortable, respectful setting. Results are typically available quickly to support timely follow-up and care.
